We live in a day and age where we're constantly in fear. Fear of war, violence, poverty...the list goes on and on. Well, here's a delightful new thing to be worried about, as if we needed one more. Apparently it's possible for
parasitic worms to infect your eye balls. Yeah, that's great.
Two years ago, 28-year-old Abby Beckley of Oregon pulled 14 little worms from her
left eye. Doctors say that she probably got them from a fly, the kind that are constantly flying around by cow's eyes. It makes sense, especially since Abby had lived on a ranch earlier that summer. However, this is the first case ever reported in the world of those flies infecting a person's eyes. Until now, they've only been found in cows. The worms are spread by flies that feed on eye lubricant.
So yeah. That's gross.
